2002 Meet the Greenway Series

In 2002, GARI successfully completed a 10-month tour of Rhode Island, exploring the state's greenways. We covered all existing and future ECGA sections, from the Connecticut border to the Massachusetts border, from February to November.

October - November

October

A ride on the Blackstone Bike Path's two open sections from Lonsdale in Lincoln to Manville in Cumberland.
The new bike bridge over the river wasn't quite finished yet. It was opened in Novemeber. The bridge eliminates
the need to use the Aston Viaduct to connect the two sections. You'll see in the pictures though, that it's still worth
checking out - the view is great!

The bike path and active train line sit side by side.

a nice spot in downtown Woonsocket.
